Why it works

Why side sleepers wake up with a dead arm

On a regular pillow, your shoulder takes the weight of your head and your lower arm ends up pinned underneath. Your neck bends toward the mattress for hours. The butterfly shape gives the shoulder and arm their own space, so your head stays level. If your arm goes numb often, talk to your doctor: a pillow is not a treatment.

The details

Butterfly Contour Pillow

When you sleep on your side, your shoulder and arm end up under the weight of your head all night. You wake up with a stiff neck, a sore shoulder or an arm that feels asleep. The Calmwyn butterfly pillow gives them somewhere to go: two shoulder cut-outs let your arm rest without your head on top of it, while the contour keeps your neck in line with your spine.

  • Two heights in one pillow: a higher side for side sleepers and broad shoulders, a lower side for back sleepers and narrow shoulders. Turn the pillow around to switch.
  • Shoulder and arm cut-outs: the "wings" cradle your arms so they are not pinned under your head.
  • Center cradle that holds your head when you sleep on your back.
  • Removable, washable cover. Size about 23 × 13 × 5 in (59 × 33 × 13 cm).
  • 100-night trial: sleep on it for up to 100 nights. Not for you? We refund you, and you donate the pillow instead of shipping it back.

What it is not: it is not a medical device and it does not treat or cure neck pain, arm numbness, headaches, snoring or sleep apnea. Most people need one to two weeks to get used to a contour pillow. If your arm goes numb often, or your pain is severe or getting worse, talk to your doctor.

Questions

Which side should I use? +

Broad shoulders or side sleeper: the high side. Narrow shoulders or back sleeper: the low side. Sleep two nights and switch if it does not feel right.

Will it fix my neck pain or my numb arm? +

It is a pillow, not a treatment. Many side sleepers wake up less stiff once the shoulder and arm have room. If your arm goes numb often, or your pain is severe or getting worse, talk to your doctor.

It feels firm. Is that normal? +

Yes, for the first nights. Most people need one to two weeks. Try the other side before you give up; you have 100 nights.

Will it stop snoring? +

Better posture can make snoring lighter for some people, but a pillow does not treat snoring or sleep apnea. If you stop breathing or wake up gasping, see a doctor.

What if it is not right for me? +

Sleep on it for up to 100 nights. If it still is not right, email hello@calmwyn.com and we refund you. You do not ship it back: donate it and send us the receipt.

How long does delivery take? +

Free shipping on every order, with tracking. Order today and it arrives in 6 to 10 days. You get a tracking link by email as soon as it ships.
